Most of you never actually see my work.
Across all platforms, I have over 76,000 followers as The Red Haired Stokie.
On Facebook alone, I have nearly 40,000 followers, and I actually worked it out… on average, only 0.76% of you ever get shown my posts.
Less than 1%. How terrible is that?
Every platform is constantly pestering me to pay for ads and boosting just to access the audience I have already built. To access my own community.
And I am tired of it. It is time to take control back from these platforms.
So I am building my community off social media, and I am moving everything over to Patreon.
It is completely free to join. You will get all the posts I would normally share on social media, and more. If you already support me financially anywhere else, message me and I will send you a code so you get the same amount of time/support on Patreon. If you pay monthly on another platform, cancel there and move to here instead.
I do have the website, but that is very one-sided, just me sharing articles.
Patreon is different. It is a proper community space. We can chat. You can vote on what I research next. I can share research, articles, behind the scenes, video, day-to-day updates, podcast work in progress and all the things that get buried by algorithms. And most of all, you will see it.
I will still post the usual stuff on social media, but the real content, the meaningful stuff, will live on Patreon, away from the algorithms.
