Staffordshire is world-famous for its pottery, but did you know the county is also the birthplace of inventions that changed everyday life across the globe? From pioneering household essentials to ingenious creations that influenced industry and culture, our county has long been a hotbed of innovation.
On Friday 15th November 2025 at 10:30 am, I’ll be sharing these fascinating stories in my latest local history talk:
This talk will take you on a journey through some of Staffordshire’s most surprising inventions, shining a light on the remarkable people behind them. Expect plenty of discovery, storytelling, and inspiration as we celebrate the county’s proud legacy of creativity and innovation.
About the Venue
The talk takes place in the Copeland Room at the Spode Museum, Stoke, which is fully accessible with lift access and toilets on the same floor.
Before or after the talk, you can enjoy refreshments at The Little Vintage Tea Room, a non-profit café serving tea, coffee, and light meals on beautiful Spode china. You’ll also be able to explore the Spode Museum and browse the shop, where you’ll find gorgeous Stoke-on-Trent pottery from all makers and eras – all at fantastic prices and helping to support the museum.
