Newcastle-under-Lyme as you may never have seen it. I came across this wonderful old film, which looks, judging by the cars and shopfronts, to be from the 1960s. If anyone can date it more accurately, please do let me know in the comments.
We are so lucky that people loved our towns enough to film and photograph them so often. It is a gift to be able to look back and see how much has changed, and how much has stayed the same. I often wonder if someone, sixty years from now, will be watching my own videos and comparing them to their present day. What a strange and lovely thought. It is so important to document the world around us.
I know many of you will recognise Newcastle-under-Lyme in this footage, so have a watch, see what you can spot, and share your memories. I love hearing your stories.
Feel free to share this video with anyone who might enjoy a bit of local nostalgia.
